The Lo Rise

The Top Floor of the Basement...

What do women want from guys? Well, that depends ...

If you've spent five minutes with a woman, you know that what they ACTUALLY want and what they SAY they want are distinctly different things.

A good strategy for guys looking to get lucky is to understand what women SAY they want -- and then throw an occasional curveball by doing the opposite.

Here's what women say they want from their date, along with some ways to break the rules.

1. Take a Shower -- You've got to show up clean shaven and smelling decent. Women are the cleaner of the species and will judge you on how hygienic you are.

2. Arrive on Time -- On the first few dates, it's important to not show up late. But after that, it can be effective to keep her waiting (and steaming) a little bit. You don't want to send out the signal that you're her obedient lapdog.

3. Be a Gentleman -- Again, start out by holding doors open for her and pulling her chair out for her. After a while, don't be afraid to start treating her like one of the guys. While you don't want to show off by lighting your farts, you do want to be just flawed enough to keep her interested.

4. Listen to Her and Ask Questions -- Maybe the hardest thing to do in the whole world... Woman are attracted to guys who are genuinely interested in hearing what they have to say. Think about it this way: Every question you ask gets you closer to getting her in the sack.

5. Pay for the Date -- You don't have to like it, but you're going to have to pay. Women bring their breasts. Guys bring their wallets. It's just the way the world works.

Phone Topic: Invite women to weigh in ... What rules do they have for their dates? What signs are they on the lookout for?

Phone Topic: What are guys looking for on a first date? What are instant deal breakers?

Phone Topic: Everybody knows that nice guys finish last ... How do you balance being a decent human being -- and being enough of a jerk to stay in the game?
